Research on the use of Web 2.0 tools by CEOs at Fortune 100 companies found that they have been slow to catch on to the social networking trend.
Though not a CEO, I have tried out both Twitter and Facebook.
As far a I am concerned these are both hughe time waisters, for people who don't really have a life of themself.
Moreover, Facebook's usurping privacy policy and exposures are notorious.
As a company you may want to know what is said about you or your products in Twitter or Facebook, but people have good reasons to stay away from them.
Social Networking sites are totally prohibited in our company. Our CEO has stopped doing business with people that spend much of there time social networking, they are often the worst companys to try to do business with. Why, they accomplish nothing related to getting the job done. I am the IT Dir and have tried them all. There was never any comunication useful, just useless chat, but they sure wasted a lot of my time. Not slow to catch on, just moved on past the latest useless fade.
LinkedIn has proven very helpful.
Facebook is interesting.
Twitter is a great idea but still missing the sweet spot of allowing managers to watch projet status.
