T-Mobile confirmed on Tuesday that internal information posted on the Internet by hackers was stolen from its systems, but said it does not appear customer data is in jeopardy.
Is this the same data reported (by IDG) that was lost in 2006 breach, but revealed by Der Spiegle in Oct 2008?
Why is this an important point? If it is, then prehaps individuals who are informed their PII is lost need to be vigilant for a greater period of time than 12-18 months.
Thanks,
Christopher
I saw the list on F.D.
while I agree that the list itself is not much of a security threat to customers, has anyone actually offered to buy it and requested some more sample data.
why post the extent of the breach when you clearly have got inside their network.
If someone sent me a list of all of our servers, it would get my attention as owner and as a potential buyer I would be inclined to at least consider it a valid offer.
tmo user: FAIL!
Maybe this explains why I have begun to receive "pump and dump" stock scam spam in only my e-mail accounts that are served by a BlackBerry data account at T-Mobile. I wonder if thieves harvested all the e-mail addresses.
