The Case for Private Clouds

Really interesting post that explains this topic better than any I've seen. Though, I confess, it's still unclear to me how "private cloud" is really all that different than traditional on-premise computing. On one hand, I feel like it's a way for on-prem vendors to say they are into the "cloud" by cooking up a marketing term. Having IT manage its own machines (and pay staff to do it) seems not very cloud-like to me. Would be interested to hear your thoughts.
