Thanks for the informative article, I learned something from it.

ec2 is another bold land grab on the part of the visionary Mr. Bezos and it will pay the stockholders back very hadsomely within the next 5 years. I am a user of ec2 and ebs and I agree with your assessment that the BLR and BEA statistics offers huge promise. The only pragmatic challenge is that ec2 and ebs as they stand today are platforms for programmers - they have not yet been commoditized for a lay person, an economics teacher or a professor, to leverage the assets that exist there. Amazon continues to invest in the plumbing but expects the community to provide the tools and services to make it usable and they are focused on taking the baby steps just to getthings to work on their own.
