I can just hear the malicious hackers rubbing their hands together -- yet another vector with which to compromise Web users. For one, Native Client is written in a native language (C/C++) rather than in a managed language (Java, C#) so right off the bat the potential attack surface of Native Client is large.

Robert Hansen is on target here -- there's a myriad of problems that we have today that have yet to solved. Adding more gas to the fire, while technically and functionly compelling, does nothing to reduce the overall threat from the Internet. As bad as this sounds, guys like Robert and myself (security consultants) will always have work.
