Meru Networks has announced "virtual ports" for its wireless networks -- a development it claims will finally enable Wi-Fi to replace Ethernet by making it as reliable as a switched Ethernet port.
Wow, they've finally done it! They've realized the goal of making wireless work the same as ATM.
Hey wait, ATM was bad. Shared limited bandwidth is a dead end when you can have more bandwidth why not get more instead!
The FCC gave us 23 channels, not 1 or 2.
Meru proves they continue to innovate dead end architectures. Kind of like using a shovel to get out of a whole.
Realwirelessman your comments are comical, so you must be a comedian because your definitely not a wifi-guy.
Don't be bitter because you couldn't figure it out first... Mr. FCC gave "us" 23 channels.
The reality is you don't understand the architecture. Why don't you enlighten the readers; How does your channel plan accommodate for the unpredictability of RF with Reflection and Multipath with 802.11n?
Co-channel interference from 1,6,11 must have you up all night.
Interesting, can't wait to give it a try...
I'd be happy to explain how all RF channels can be used at once...but, since you're obviously a Meru employee simply trying to discredit my post I'd rather you explain how it can't be done!
Or maybe you can explain how the cellular network has been doing the same multichannel architechture from a single tower for years yet as you say the same can't be done by Meru for Wi-Fi.
You will note that I did give Meru credit for making things simple. But, I also pointed out that a Moped is simple transportation but carries it's own disadvantages.
