No exchange support is a deal killer. As someone in the tech industry who relies heavily on Outlook, no Exchange support pretty much makes the G1 just a toy for kids who want to watch YouTube on their phones.
What was Google thinking? Didn't they learn from Apple's initial mistake? Once Apple added Exchange support to the iPhone, everyone in my office got one.
Good luck with that, Google.
G1 is killing the iphone you just mad because the phone is t-mobile. Everybody hates on t-mobile and don't relize the quality of the product they sale. Right now G1 is going to be on top untill t-mobile comes out with a better phone. Also if thats what you guys want is exchanged then t-mobile with satisfy that as well.
WOW! C-quence, if you want to convince business people they are wrong, I suggest graduating from high school. Grammar is your friend.
Maybe that guy was right about not having Exchange, But people who buy the IPhone also doesn't listen to music or videos or play games on it. So to all the business people maybe you should just stick to your Blackberry's and leave the "Toys" to the more younger population.
For T-Mobile’s G1, there will be a bundle of T-Mobile G1 Accessories online to select from; everything from Backup Batteries to G1 Cases, Car Accessories, Chargers, Cables, Headphones, Cradles, Bluetooth Accessories, and more. The list goes on and on, but basically the primary purposes of any G1 accessories are to add functionality, such as where you can use it and what you can use it with, make some features easier to use, and extend the use of the G1 Android phone.
"As someone in the tech industry who relies heavily on Outlook..."
Do you expect to pass that behavior off as the norm for people in tech?
Why is it that coporate people have such restrictive tunnel vision? That's the whole purpose of the open platform of Android. Someone will write an app that will sync Outlook with the G1. In fact I hear that someone is already working on it (if it hasn't been already released).
I love my G1!!! I've already sold my iPhone on eBay because I'm tired of the high cost of AT&T's service. Thumbs up to you T-Mobile.
^^^^^
hahaha
the iphone unlimited data plan isnt 70 a month. i just bought one for my son and its 30 a month for unlimited data.
I just tried out the T-Mobile G1 and the AT&T iphone. Both are okay, but the iphone looks much better, smoother, crisper screen and slides right in my pocket.
As a managerial professional, I decided to go with the iphone because of Microsoft Exchange support. However, even without Exchange I would have went with the iphone over the G1 because it is a seasoned/proven product that has been made better over the years.
These 3G smart phones cost more, but you pay for quality, features and gadgets that are useful. I give Google thumbs up for jumping into the cell phone wars, but the G1 is not an iphone killer, not even close. The great thing is that Apple will look over their shoulder and make the next generation iphone even better.
My verdict?:
iphone = Industry Gold Standard. The touch screen keyboard takes some getting use to, but once you master it, it can be just as easy to use as a slide out keyboard. The good thing about no keyboard is it's something less to break, rattle or wear out.
G1 = Nice initial attempt, but work is needed on the look of this new phone as the display screen lacks in quality and the handset looks/feels cheaply made. To be competitive the next generation has to have Microsoft Exhange support if it ever hopes to crack into the office or business market.
