We know you BlackBerry lovers can never get enough software for your RIM smartphones--especially free downloads. So we assembled another handful of BlackBerry applications you don't want to miss. Grab all five of 'em right here, gratis.
I want to say the following about the 5th application indicated here, the Car Finder.
5. Locate Your Car from Afar: CarFinder for BlackBerry
Ever parked the car in the vast shopping mall parking lot only to find yourself wandering aimlessly in the sweltering sun hours later in search of your vehicle? Yeah, us too.
But thanks to Neosistec, a Spanish software development firm, and its CarFinder for BlackBerry app, you'll never find yourself wandering up and down aisles in search of your car again--no matter how large the parking lot. That's because CarFinder uses your phone's internal GPS to "tag" your parking location for future reference.
You just mark your location as soon as you leave your vehicle, and whenever you're ready to return, click the CarFinder icon on your BlackBerry home screen to launch the application. Then pick whether or not you want to find your car using CarFinder's built-in compass or your BlackBerry Maps app, if available, and you're car-ward bound.
CarFinder is available for free over-the-air download from RIM's mobile.blackberry.com website.
(Note: We were unable to give the CarFinder app a hands-on test drive, because we don't have a BlackBerry with internal GPS and the application didn't seem to work with our external GPS puck. The app just said "Waiting for GPS Signal" over and over again. So users without built-in GPS appear to out of luck.)
PLEASE GO TO OPTIONS, ADVANCED OPTIONS, GPS, AND, AFTER PAIRING THE EXTERNAL BLUETOOTH GPS ANTENA, CHANGE GPR DATA SOURCE!!
Hello Anonymous,
The GPS source on the BlackBerry we used in our attempt to try out CarFinder is correctly set to our external Telmap GPS puck. However, the application still can't seem to find a GPS signal.
Do you use CarFinder with a BlackBerry and an external GPS source? Can you confirm that it works with external GPS?
We've had no luck on our end...

Capitol One? Is that a credit card they issue you when you get into congress? Is their tag line "What's in your legislator's wallet?"
i had an 8100 now an 8900 - this app makes having the gps worthwhile, even better than google maps (i used to tag my location via that)
it works just as it says, sometimes the gps takes a second to hit it, which is odd because it works immediately elsewhere. but once it gets a reading (including altitude!?) it is live and you can even walk around with it to see it change.
you can then either save your location for future retrieval (multiple stack too it seems) and/or send a bb map, google map and gps coords via email to whomever you wish.
best trip out is the find my car (duh) it will then either give you a bb map from your present location to your car's saved location (ie then you can plan a route if need be) or use the "compass" which is so mr spock 1960's tricorderish, it's something bb should have included long ago.
