Google, Yahoo Strike Ad Deal

 

Just hours after saying it had ended talks over a possible investment from Microsoft, Yahoo announced a deal with Google to run some of Google's advertisements alongside Yahoo search results.

Time to get rid of Yahoo Stocks, what a crappy patch up deal

You're not in advertising, are you? In a word, this is Big. Yahoo gets revenue, and doesn't have to pay additional sales personnel to get it. Google gets to put a finger in Microsoft's eye (again), and will probably gain by turning a competitor into a business partner. The only loser in this is the aforementioned Mickeysoft, an idea which I'm not the least surprised to find amuses me greatly. Additional revenue at minimal cost is a big plus for Yahoo stockholders, as it creates cash flow that can turn directly into additional dividend$. That would make it a strong 'buy' recommendation (full disclosure: I do not own or control any stock in any of the companies mentioned here).
