Google, please keep up the good work, give me safe internet pages and I take the small adds for granted.

Not so quick. Anyone can point to problems and complain--even non-IT people. Pandering to the under-informed by pretending up-dates and anti-virus are useful and protective just perpetuates the problem. (Hey, they get them too!) Remember in the recent past all those holes in firewalls and other security software? Suggesting that more caution works defensively, expands the problem. To get the beginning of the fix, let's admit US IT doesn't have clue. Then there's only rule needed: if you don't want to share it with the world, don't put it on computer connected to the web. Every computer station should have a surfer and an unconnected PC, blocked from the internet. Some work is done on the first; all secrets and work product is stored on the second. If they want to break down the door to get to the second, you are in the wrong business. The surfing computer can be refreshed, replaced, reformatted, reloaded, scrubbed, etc. as frequently as needed.
